The essence of coaching is this collaborative, caring and committed relationship between you and your coach. Gain awareness, set goals, and feel empowered to take action.


Having a HC is like having a career mentor or professional sports coach that helps you grow and excel in your profession or sport. In this case, your health and wellness goals are more attainable and in viable forms. Starting a wellness journey can be challenging, especially if it consists of making major lifestyle shifts. Such as changing the way you eat, adopting a sleep hygiene routine, or starting to exercise. A Health Coach understand that wellness looks different for everyone. A Health Coach is there to meet you where you are and be your accountability partner to get you where you want to be.


For starters, a health coach has gone through one or two (or more) of your similar experiences. They have learned to coach themselves, and they walk the talk. That enables them to guide clients to become experts on their well-being. A Certified Health Coach has completed an in-depth certification program from an Institution such as the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. They have extensive experience, are trained in human behavior, and take an integrative and holistic approach to health. They look beyond food and consider other areas of life that need nourishment. These areas could be your career satisfaction, how you feel in your home environment, physical activity, the quality of your relationships, and so much more.


What you experience when working with a Health Coach:
  • A safe space and undivided attention during your one-on-one sessions

  • An understanding and introduction to nourishing foods and practices to optimize your body and mind

Health Coaches are actively expanding their knowledge by testing recipes, analyzing wellness information, and attending courses. Research has found that health coaching helps patients improve health outcomes and manage chronic conditions. Health Coaches provide curated information, fresh approaches, empowerment to make informed decisions, and a whole-body approach to wellness.


The Coaching Process

Health coaching is not about someone telling you what to do. It is about respecting your terms and your reasons for wanting to change. A HC shows up for you and your individual needs. It involves the coach and the client discussing ideas and issues and allowing you to be in the driver’s seat, create goals, and develop strategies on how to arrive at these goals.


Health coaches use motivational interviewing techniques and positive psychology to help transform your health and achieve your wellness goals. This means that instead of looking around for problems to dwell on, a coach will work with you to get to the root cause of an issue and harness your strengths in order to improve the health behaviors you want to address.


Health is ultimately a form of self-care, and choosing to focus on your health and well-being is one of the most powerful decisions you can make today.
